“She sounds like a relative of yours.” Kifkef grinned, “Does savage bloodlust run in the family?”

Gypsy Lou showed her teeth as she smiled.

“Well, tonight is full moon, my friend - If you’re lucky enough then maybe you’ll get to find out.”

Kifkef grinned broadly and quietly moved his chair a few inches away from his host.

Baba Gene had now forgotten the intimidating presence of the Moroccans, who were even now engaged in a rowdy dispute with the waiter.

“Although I know full well,” He said, “that regret is an illusion - Yet sometimes I wonder what might have been.”

“Puta. What the fuck are you mumbling about now?” Gypsy Lou growled.

“It’s just that sometimes I wonder that when I renounced money, women and the American Dream, whether I really knew exactly what I was giving up.”

“So then, my friend,” asked Kifkef with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, "Why did you choose to forsake all these wonderful blessings that Allah has bestowed upon us?”

The sadhu sighed.

“It is not an easy explanation. But it was as though I had no other choice.
